Communities of Practice
Communities of Practice
Communities of Practice are groups of people who share a common concern, a set of problems, or an interest in a topic and who come together to fulfill both individual and group goals; groups who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better through practice and interaction (Wenger, 1998).
Weaving the Commons aims to identify and recognize the current communities of practice leading socio-environmental shifts in the Raleigh-Durham area.
The following graph is a weaving of the communities identified up to this point and their predominant themes or foci.
Below the graph, you'll find links to the pages with more information about each group that has been interviewed (this project is on-going, more interviews will be uploaded as they are done).
